The transition from university to corporate life is often filled with uncertainty and learning. From my experience, university education provides fundamental concepts, but these are far from practical application. As a moderate student, I understood theories such as organizational hierarchy, leadership styles, culture, motivation, and rewards, yet I lacked clarity on how these function in real-world organizations.

After completing my bachelor’s degree, I began applying for jobs but often felt blank while filling out sections related to skills and experience. I questioned whether I could generate value for a company. Despite having knowledge, I did not know how to apply it effectively.

With these doubts, I joined MAW Earthmovers Pvt. Ltd., a company outside my academic background. Initially, I had limited understanding of the construction sector. However, a 9-day training program helped me connect theory with practice, gradually building confidence. The initial days were challenging, especially while interacting with customers.

MAW’s organizational culture played a vital role in my growth. A supportive environment and strong teamwork helped me adapt quickly and understand the importance of collaboration.

Our “Organizational Behavior” teacher once said employees should work as if the organization were their own home. I doubted this, but at MAW, I found the answer. The incentive model motivates employees to take ownership, helping me truly understand the value of rewards.

Though I have only worked for two months, this experience has already taught me more than years of academic learning and strengthened my confidence to create value.
